A place to truly unwind

Rural Morocco

Asni is a small rural town in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains and the village is split into two parts. The 'commercial' area, down by the main road, with 20-30 small shops on either side of the road, all selling much the same thing! Behind the shops, up a slope, a short distance away is the 'residential' part of the village, consisting of 50 or so houses, both easily accessible by foot.

There really isn’t much to Asni – some old mud-brick houses seem amazing the first time you seem them, but you'll see more, higher up in the mountains. Asni is less touristy than other areas and therefore is more like the 'real' Morocco  – for souvenirs you are better off heading to Marrakech for the day.

Kasbah Tamadot is located at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, approximately one hour's drive from the centre of Marrakech. The hotel sits at 1,320m above sea level and overlooks a valley whose river ebbs and flows with the seasons. On a clear day you can see Mount Toubkal, the Atlas' highest peak. The nearest village is Asni which is worth visiting on Saturday for the weekly market.

Kasbah Tamadot is a stunning property in a lovely rural location with absolutely amazing views – it is so peaceful you wont want to leave.  It really is a haven of relaxation and luxury.

Marrakech only an hour away

Marrakech has so many contrasts! The modern city has wide palm lined boulevards, whilst within the old city walls a world of history comes alive. Traditional craftsmen working gold, silver, brass and copper are here to see in the souk. There is an excellent range of restaurants to choose from too. The Koutoubia Mosque dates from the 12th Century and the El Badi Palace from the late 16th Century.  Don’t miss the Djemaa El Fna, the hub of Marrakech full of music, acrobats, storytellers and snake charmers.

Two-centre holidays

We would be happy to combine Kasbah Tamadot with a hotel or Riad in Marrakech or Agadir on the coast. We can happily advise you.

Cookery Schools

For a unique and authentic experience whilst on holiday, why not try your hand at some Moroccan cooking. You will find out just how to use all the right spices in the traditional Moroccan dishes and you don’t even have to leave your hotel! Kasbah Tamadot offer cookery lessons at the hotel which normally last about three hours during the afternoon. Each budding chef will have their own cooking station where they’ll create a delicious three course meal including salads, soup, tagines and dessert. Then you’ll have the pleasure of eating your culinary delights for dinner that evening!
