Ideal for families and young couples

The resort known as Playa de Palma refers to the long stretch of Mallorca's central south coast running from C'an Pastilla in the west, around the Bay of Palma, to the resort of El Arenal in the east. For most of us it is difficult to determine where one resort ends and the next begins.

The three resorts are connected by a wide pedestrian promenade which is ideal for those with walking difficulties or for families with prams.  There is also a mini train which runs along the promenade if you don’t feel like walking.

The main stretch of Playa de Palma is a Blue Flag beach and starts just beyond Can Pastilla and finishes at the resort of S'Arenal - a length of around 4.5 km. It is a lovely, wide beach (average of around 50 metres in depth) with golden white sand. The shallow, clear water is suitable for children and there is usually plenty of space for playing.

All the facilities are on your doorstep – sun loungers & parasols, toilets & showers, disabled access and lifeguards on duty, and of course, plenty of beach bars to grab refreshments. This is also the beach where you'll find the infamous Puro Beach Club.

Behind the beach you will find a traffic-free promenade and a cycle path, where there are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants serving up a range of international cuisine, and a few that serve more traditional Spanish and Mallorcan dishes, tapas etc. There are also many shops selling beachwear and accessories, holiday essentials and souvenirs.

There is a good variety of fun water sports available - jet skiing, water skiing and paragliding. Other beach sports (football, volleyball etc) are also popular here because of the depth of the beach, and it's proximity to Palma.
