So much to explore

Gardone Riviera200x240

Surrounded by lush verdant gardens, green hills and aristocratic villas it’s clear why, with its superb microclimate, elegant Gardone Riviera was the chosen destination of the nobility and the famous over the past century. Poets, artists and writers alike flocked here to escape the winter blues, as did Winston Churchill himself in the post-war years.

The elegant lakeside resort of Gardone enjoys a pleasant promenade with a ferry stop and a variety of cafés, restaurants and shops. Perfect for strolling and relaxing over a leisurely coffee or aperitif!

In both the Gardone Sopra and the Fasano (lakeside) area of Gardone, as well as the surrounding hills, there’s an excellent choiceof places to eat out in, both in terms of local trattorias and right up to Michelin star level, such as the Lido 84 or Villa Fiordaliso (originally the home of Clara Petacci, Mussolini’s mistress).

We are pleased to offer three very different styles of accommodation in this traditional, elegant and upmarket part of Lake Garda.

Getting about on the lake

Try an excursion on one of the catamarans or steamers that regularly travel up and down the lake – the views of the small towns, the snow capped mountains and the gorgeous villas are captivating. Its such a lovely way of exploring the area.

Day trips out

It is highly recommended to take a day trip to Venice or Verona to marvel at the beauty of both these cities. The Arena di Verona is the home of the annual opera festival which runs from approx Jun-Sep. Each of our hotels will gladly reserve your seats for an evening. Venice is so close to Gardone Riviera, so makes a fantastic day out by train from Lake Garda. Fun for all the family can be had at the amusement park Gardaland, located just east of Peschiera.

Local Attractions

Take time to visit the lovely André Heller Botanic Garden right in the centre of Gardone or be amazed by the unique house of poet and nationalist Gabriele D’Annunzio, the ‘Vittoriale’. Go up to ‘Gardone Sopra’ – a quaint little village above the main resort, with its winding flower filled alleyways, cafés and fabulous views across the lake.

Just offshore from Gardone lies the majestic ‘Isola del Garda’, owned by the Cavazza family; dominated by an imposing neo classical villa, the island boasts lovely gardens and can be visited by boat.
