QUAINT MEDIEVAL LAKESIDE TOWN

A beautiful lake side promenade connecting Bardolino with Garda.

Bardolino 200x240

Bardolino itself is an immaculately presented medieval lakeside town with loads of charm and character. There are a number of alluring alleyways in the historic pedestrianised centre teeming with shops and restaurants, leading to the main piazza and lakefront where there are some lovely cafés - perfect for whiling the time away, enjoying the lake views and watching the ferries arrive and depart. Why not hop on board yourself to visit some other gorgeous parts of Lake Garda!

Around the lake

Wander out and discover some of the small family run wineries or perhaps take a visit to the Olive Oil museum in nearby Cisano. Or a ten minute drive south of the resort is the lovely walled historic centre of Lasize – one of Lake Garda’s better kept secrets – this small medieval gem is well worth a visit. Perhaps treat yourself and indulge in ‘risotto alla tinca’ risotto with tench, a locally caught freshwater fish), a speciality of this area – we recommend you try ‘Ristorante La Taverna Da Oreste’.

Other than visiting Lasize, you can also enjoy leisurely days on the ferry or hydrofoil visiting the beautiful resorts of Sirmione, Desenzano, Salò, Garda and Peschiera. For the more active, just south of Bardolino, there are a variety of popular theme parks, such as Gardaland (Italy’s answer to Disneyland!) and CanevaWorld, which boasts the most fabulous water park.

Bardolino’s southerly location means it’s a perfect base to visit some of northern Italy’s delights, such as the lovely cities of Verona, Mantova and even Venice itself.
