Beautiful area to explore on foot or by car

Tazacorte La Palma

The area of Tazacorte, on the west coast of La Palma is mostly farmlands, producing almost exclusively bananas. It also claims to be the warmest area on the island!

It is split into two areas - Puerto de Tazacorte is on the coast and has a long promenade, a fishing harbour, a black sand beach and a pedestrianised area with a boulevard, bars and many fish restaurants.

Tazacorte village is about 1km above the coast and is the main centre where you will find the town hall, post office, shops and supermarket.

Prestige Holidays offer the beautiful Hacienda de Abajo in Tazacorte, tucked away in the banana plantations.  This is a truly lovely adult’s only hotel with just 32 rooms.

La Punta - Tazacorte cliff walk

A popular and relatively easy walk from Tazacorte is from Mirador El Time down to Tazacorte harbour. Starting at the café at the Mirador El Time there is an old 'camino royal' path leading down the cliff face to the beach. The Mirador is on the bus route from Los Llanos to Tijarafe, or you can take a taxi. The walk is quite easy as long as you wear walking shoes.

Tazacorte Harbour

The harbour at Tazacorte is the base for private yachts, dolphin watching trips, the local fishing fleet, a cargo ferry and the fish farms off the coast. In the evening it is a popular place to take a stroll when it is lit up.
