Quieter areas for a peaceful holiday

Rural La Palma

Villa de Mazo is located on the south-eastern part of the island of and is easily found if driving yourself, as the main route for the island passes nearby. It is south of Santa Cruz and has a population of less than 5,000 and sitting at 500m above sea level it has views across the sea to La Gomera in the distance.

The surrounding area is mostly farmland and to the north are forests. Within this typical hillside village you will find Casa Roja the embroidery museum, a craft which is still practised on the island to this day. Mazo is well known for local crafts including baskets and the lacework. Also nearby (approx 4kms) is the Belmaco Archaeoligical Park which has ten caves with rock carvings.

The traditional Canarian rural property, Casa La Reverica, can be found 4km’s from Villa de Mazo in a quiet countryside location with lovely views of the sea below.  This is a self-catering property with three little cottages and a private pool. We recommend hire car here.

This is the nearest village to Dona Arminda and is a small and typical Canarian village. Santa Cruz is only a few kilometres away for outings and shopping.

Dona Arminda is a very traditional, pretty little property with just six rooms, with a lovely pool and breakfast terrace – a real get away from it all spot. We recommend hire car here.
