One of the least visited regions of Spain

Murcia Cathedral Spain

La Manga is in the Murcia area of Spain, one of the least visited in the country by tourists.

Surrounding area

The capital, Murcia, is a university town and has the splendid Cartagena Cathedral.  If you are exploring outside La Manga resort then the city has plenty of historical interest.

There are also 250km of coast with some fabulous beaches and with over 2500 hours of sunshine a year sun worshippers will be very happy.

Alternatively the Parque Natural de Sierra Espuna would appeal to walkers and climbers. There are some terrific fiestas in this area too.

La Manga the resort

The main reason for visiting this area is La Manga peninsular.  La Manga resort is famed for its sporting and leisure facilities and is one of Europe’s premier resorts.  The property opened in 1972 and is spread over an 18 kms estate - and is three times the size of Monaco.

Murcia airport is the closest, 20 minutes, but one can also fly into Alicante which would involve a longer transfer to the resort approx. 1 hour.

La Manga is a fully self-contained resort and is ideal for families and friends year round.  Whether it is the golf that appeals or the other huge range of other sporting facilities there is something here to suit everyone.

We list some of the many facilities on our resort page and detail the individual properties on the estate under the properties listing.
