Experience a Canadian Winter Wonderland on the Snow Train

Explore the Rockies on our unmissable Snow Train Tour. This exciting, jam-packed journey from Jasper to Vancouver is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the nearby sights and experience the natural splendour of this winter wonderland.

At Prestige Holidays, we offer some truly spectacular winter experiences, but there is no holiday quite like our ten-day Rocky Mountain Tour. Taking guests on an unforgettable journey through the snow-clad landscapes of Jasper and Vancouver, VIA Rail’s Snow Train includes visits to stunning mountain towns, frozen canyons and plenty more exciting attractions. Here are the main stops on the journey…

Banff Town

Your first stop will be Banff, a picturesque mountain town in the province of Alberta, Canada. Here we invite our guests to enjoy a wildlife excursion before experiencing a magical horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snowy wilderness. There is plenty to see in the main town, too – visit the array of museums, shops, restaurants and galleries, or if you’re feeling adventurous, head to the gorgeous Banff Upper Hot Springs in the National Park, just a short distance from the town. Bathe in the steaming mineral waters of the springs and enjoy the surrounding scenery – this is Canada’s highest operating hot spring, so the views are utterly stunning.

Other popular attractions in Banff include skiing, boating, hiking and climbing. The diverse landscape provides plenty of opportunity for adventure – I have no doubt that you’ll fall in love with this town just as quickly as I did.

Lake Louise

After a three-night stay in Banff you will board our Snow Train again to continue your adventure, this time heading to Lake Louise (otherwise known as the ‘Jewel of the Rockies’). You will stay here overnight, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the wonders of this turquoise lake and its exquisite mountain backdrop. There really is no sight quite like this one.

“My favourite part of the tour by far. I simply couldn’t take my eyes off it.”

Jasper

Jasper is a small mountain town boasting picturesque scenery everywhere you turn. The main attraction here is the breathtaking Maligne Canyon – you will be led by an experienced guide right to the frozen floor of the canyon to enjoy the views from below. The impressive canyon has been shaped by 10,000 years of erosion and in some areas is 50m deep. It never fails to astonish me.

Vancouver

On day eight of the tour, guests will arrive in Vancouver, one of Canada’s most diverse and popular cities. Here we will provide you with plenty of time to visit several of the major sightseeing areas such as English Bay, Gastown and Stanley Park. Stanley Park is an immensely popular spot, attracting around eight million visitors per year. The famous urban park is home to varied wildlife, flora and fauna as well as some exciting child-friendly attractions including a water park and miniature railway.

This Snow Train experience is a thrilling journey for all, and will surely make it into the memory books. If you’re looking for ten days of excitement touring breathtaking scenery, I think this could be your perfect holiday option.
