Holidays in Croatia never fail to amaze me: the enviable climate, pretty towns and stunning scenery all contribute to a feeling of pure relaxation. If you’re looking for sun, sea, and seclusion on your next Adriatic adventure, why not visit the charming resort and former fishing village of Vodice?
Croatia is a paradise, surrounded by strikingly turquoise waters and a large number of enchanting islands. If you’re a nature lover, the charming town of Vodice might be the ideal location for your next relaxing getaway. The area is full of stunning stone and pebble beaches and marinas to explore. Here are my top picks.
The ACI Marina Vodice
If you wish to explore more of this area, Vodice is a good base from which to take excursions to nearby National Parks such as the Krka with its Waterfalls, the Kornati Islands, the beautiful historic town of Sibenik and the major city of the area, Zadar. Closer to home don’t miss the small, picturesque centre of Vodice with very interesting museums and monuments to explore and the area around the two harbours with a fabulous choice of restaurants.
Blue beach (Plava Plaža) is a popular spot in the summer months due to its good amenities and natural beauty. If you enjoy water sports, there are a variety of attractions you will love – banana boats, paddle boats and jet skis are all available to hire, and parasailing and diving experiences are available too. The water is calm, clean and shallow, so families are naturally drawn here.
This beach provides visitors with everything they could wish for. Hangar Beach boasts four cafes, a restaurant and a fast food bar as well as several shops and some changing facilities. There’s no reason why you couldn’t spend an entire day relaxing here – if you’re keen to stay later into the evening, there are plenty of bars that host ‘after beach parties’ which sometimes last until the early hours of the next morning.
