While our China: Wild Middle Kingdom Escorted Group Tour is exceptionally diverse and appeals to those with a variety of interests, we have put together an itinerary that reflects our passion for the natural beauty that this country offers. In fact, many of the cultural attractions we will be visiting are set against the backdrop of stunning landscapes. Below are just some of our tour’s opportunities to explore China’s unique natural setting.
The Highlights – Naturally
- The Great Wall – The Mu Tian Yu region of the Wall is the section our tour visits, and it offers an unusually large and dense section of vegetation. Spring showcases colourful flowers and green plants, whereas autumn produces blankets of red leaves.
- Taiping National Park – With beauty and wonders beyond compare (and over 30 different animal species), it’s not surprising an emperor from the Sui Dynasty chose this national park as the perfect spot to build his summer palace.
- Yangtze River Cruise – This leisurely three-day cruise down Yangtze River will give you time to marvel at the stupendous scenery you will be floating by. On the second day, our tour offers an onshore visit to the Baidi Temple, complete with amazing views over the Qutang Gorge. You will also have an opportunity to go on tours of the Lesser Three Gorges and the Three Gorges Dam.
