The itinerary has been carefully crafted to showcase the vast natural beauty of the Canadian Rockies. Tours such as this one serve it up in manageable days that allow you not just to “be there and see that”, but to truly immerse yourself in the views of this spectacular landscape.
Take to the Skies
Oh, those Canadian birds have the life! But you too can get their view and take in the vistas from a perspective that will get your blood pumping and your camera working overtime. On Day 3 of the tour in Banff, you will have the option to take to the skies on a heli-flightseeing trip. You’ll fly over the stunning Banff National Park, above magical landscapes of pine forests, glacial lakes and rugged peaks. Deep breath…
Enter the Glacier
Diverse doesn’t even begin to describe the breadth of Canada’s terrain, and on Day 5 you’ll go to the Columbia Icefield and into the heart of Athabasca Glacier in a specially designed all-terrain Ice Explorer vehicle. Once on the ice, the vastness of this 6km by 1km frozen wonderland becomes apparent, and you’ll have the opportunity to plant your feet on millennia-old ice as you marvel at the encompassing icy expanse.
All Aboard the Rocky Mountaineer
On one of the world’s most memorable train journeys, you’ll have the chance to join the Rocky Mountaineer as it winds its way through the highest peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Tours take you along the dramatic route of the Fraser Canyon, from Jasper to Vancouver. The trip is available to slot in on Days 6 & 7 of the itinerary and, for those who choose this optional extra, the experience of meandering through this wild and beautiful landscape, close enough to reach out and touch it, is an absolute highlight.
Sky High in a Gondola
On Day 8 you’ll find yourself in gorgeous Vancouver. Once you’ve soaked up the charming streets of Gastown and window-shopped your way down elegant Robson Street, if you feel like getting a different vantage you can add the option to take the Skyride up Grouse Mountain. Sit back, relax in your glass capsule and enjoy the best seat in the house, with uninterrupted panoramas over the cityscape and beyond to the Pacific Ocean.
Whistler: Whatever the Weather
Whistler is an adventurous heart’s dream come true, and on Day 9 you have the opportunity to get a view of the landscape in an alternative way. If its winter, you can choose to go out on a Snowcat tour to explore the enchanting, untouched beauty of Whistler – you’ll go very high and see very far. In summer you have the option of a rugged 4×4 instead that transports you to Blackcomb Mountain, to take on the might of the Whistler Valley and win. Keep your eyes peeled for bears and other wildlife, because they’ll be looking at you…
