The sun, sands and relaxed vibe of Tenerife make it one of my favourite holiday destinations. When I really want to indulge myself, I choose to stay in the Bahia del Duque, an exclusive hotel right on the beach; a real treat!
Built to recreate a Canarian village feel, this stunning hotel has brought together contemporary chic and sedate elegance, and is complemented by an excellent range of facilities. As a businessman my work life can often feel like it is taking over, but a stay at this gorgeous place in Tenerife never ceases to put life into perspective, even for me! A haven of relaxation whether you are revelling in the comfort of your room or making use of the incredible spa area, Bahia del Duque embraces you and pulls you into its own little paradise.
Just walking around the gardens and exploring the intertwining paths you have a chance to really appreciate the innovative design of this spot. The grand, overstated, five-star hotel feel is elusive – instead the vibe is more intimate, sophisticated and infinitely pleasant.
Introducing Bahia del Duque
Location, Location, Location
The affluent Costa Adeje with its quality restaurants and designer boutiques is where you will find this beautiful hotel. The ocean front setting and backdrop of glittering blue-green waters really can’t be beaten. I am always surprised that this stunning place with its tranquil ambiance and natural beauty is only 20 minutes from Tenerife South Airport and an hour from Tenerife North.
With direct access to the Playa del Duque, I can’t help but be tempted by an invigorating early morning dip before I head to breakfast.
Dining in Style
You can look forward to a memorable culinary experience when you dine at one of the eight restaurants here. The haute cuisine of top-class chef, Juan Miguel Cabrera, combines inspiring dishes with classic flavours and offers your palate a whole host of sensations that are bound to delight.
An innovation in gastronomy in the guise of Alisios Market Foods is a favourite restaurant of mine at Bahia del Duque. Creativity is the name of the game in the dishes produced here. Fusing market produce with haute cuisine in a way that showcases the simple fresh produce is very clever. The fabulous young Spanish wines are exceptional too.
While I do enjoy fine dining, I also appreciate a great beach bar, and the Chiringuito doesn’t disappoint, especially when the lunchtime live music set plays. Make sure you head to Las Villas for their pre-dinner canapés, perfect for enjoying alongside a cool, crisp cava.
If the hotel itself isn’t enough to give you that feeling of being away from the humdrum of everyday life, the wellness centre will definitely do the trick. This oasis of calm exudes positivity and a feeling of energy that seems to emanate from the natural surroundings. The sea, sun and volcanic rock are the apparent providers of this harmonious energy source and I have to admit that I do feel it as soon as I enter.
After a workout in the state of the art fitness centre, you may like to indulge in a sunset dip and make use of the incredible Thalassotherapy Circuit. Hammams, saunas, Scottish showers, a solarium and a cold water pool are among the other facilities that set this hotel apart from the rest.
25 years young this year, the hotel is hosting several events to mark this occasion. Not only that, but you can benefit from some excellent special offers too. Keep referring to our website, as event dates and offers are subject to change.
