Highlights of the Tour
The route is a classic coastal round trip, departing and returning to the picturesque city of Bergen. You’ll cover 2,500 miles of the spectacular Norwegian coastline via 34 ports up to Kirkenes, passing through some of the most awe-inspiring scenery on the planet. You’ll cross the Arctic Circle (twice) and have the opportunity to join a range of optional seasonal excursions to take you even deeper into Arctic wilderness to experience its grandeur.
“Lonely Planet describes this as the world’s most beautiful voyage.”
Majestic Mountains and Fjords
This ultimate voyage of discovery takes you past some 1,000 mountains and 100 fjords. Many are in places not visited by larger cruise ships, so this thoroughly immersive journey allows you to truly appreciate the scope of the magnificent landscape. You’ll take in a host of beautiful ports including Trondheim, Tromso, Honningsvag, Bodo, Alesund and Kirkenes.
In summer, you’ll sail into the magnificent UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord and cruise the deep blue waters surrounded by soaring, snow-covered peaks, while in autumn you’ll sail through the picturesque, narrow Hjørundfjord to take in the vivid colours of the vegetation that spills down the mountains. Startlingly diverse and breath-catchingly beautiful, the plethora of sights, sounds, wildlife and wilderness is what makes this one of the most acclaimed voyages in the world.
A Journey for All Seasons
While any time is a good time to explore the Norwegian coastline with Hurtigruten, each season has its own special magic. In spring the milder temperatures allow you to enjoy the abundance of bird life, while in summer the long days and warm weather bring the region to life in an explosion of colour and proliferation of wildlife. In autumn shorter days and cooler temperatures herald the magical experience of the Northern Lights, while winter transforms the Arctic landscape into an enchanting icy wonderland.
“Whatever season you visit, this spectacular region is bursting with colour, life and jaw-dropping scenery.”
You’ll spend 11 nights on board the Hurtigruten vessel of your choice, which includes full board with set-menu meals. Each vessel is equipped with restaurants, cafes and lounges and you can select from a range of cabin categories.
