What makes for a romantic holiday? It’s an interesting question that elicits a variety of responses from my team. For some the answer lies in the style of accommodation, for others it’s a specific experience on offer.
Our Favourite Honeymoon Holidays
There are many destinations in our portfolio with hotels that I would have no hesitation in recommending for a honeymoon to remember; however, I’d like to highlight 4 options here that I think are particularly charming ways to celebrate the start of your life together.
An Adults Only Retreat in Croatia
If you are like me, and the pitter-patter of small feet coupled with the high pitched shrieks of deceptively small mouths compromise your sense of a romantic backdrop, then you might want to consider a place like Hotel Bračka Perla on the Dalmatian island of Brač as the perfect hotel for your honeymoon.
Based in a traditional villa, this accommodation is for the exclusive use of adults: no children are permitted. An ambiance of seclusion, tranquillity and calm permeates the grounds. Newlyweds can stroll along the meandering paths of the charming vineyards and orchards, gaze out to the sea from the terraces and lounge by the pool.
This is a hotel that is a little different from the norm, with its focus on giving guests an opportunity to feel at one with the local nature. I imagine that this would be an ideal honeymoon destination for couples who want something a bit unique.
Sleep Like Adonis and Aphrodite in Cyprus
It doesn’t get much more romantic than the Adonis & Aphrodite Suites offered by the Anassa in Latchi. The hotel itself is set in an unspoilt north-western corner of Cyprus whose gardens gently slope towards the idyllic beach of the Akamas Peninsula.
I strongly urge that honeymooners who are interested in holidaying here book one of the Adonis and Aphrodite Suites. You’ll find yourself on the top floor of the property in a one-bedroom apartment that has been designed to personify the Isle of Love.
You’ll luxuriate in a regal four-poster bed, snuggle up together in front of your own fireplace, dip in a private hot tub on the balcony and enjoy magnificent sea views. Guests in these rooms are issued a key to access their own private lift.
These rooms are positioned on the corners of the building that face the rising or setting sun, so you can expect a daily romantic moment over coffee or cocktails.
Serenity Cave Couples’ Massages in Bermuda
Grotto Bay is a fine hotel in Bermuda that ticks all the boxes for an indulgent stay. The property is uniquely integrated into the cave network of grottoes and underground lagoons that make the location a true fairytale.
If you are heading there for a honeymoon then I insist that you don’t want to miss the opportunity to have a couple’s massage in the Serenity Cave. This is not a metaphor – you and your partner will literally descend into a treatment room that is nestled beneath the magical crystal stalactites deep within the grottoes and cave system.
Lulled by the drip of the water while you gaze at the depthless fathoms of the clear turquoise-hued mineral water, you and your spouse will share a trance-like experience.
A Day Out at Sea
The Ashbee is a small five-star luxury hotel in Sicily’s Taormina that provides guests with the ultimate in indulgent accommodation. What makes this hotel a really good choice for your honeymoon, in my opinion, is the range of experiences they offer to their guests. I recommend the day out at sea that they can arrange for you as a particularly suitable outing for newlyweds.
Imagine you and your loved one sipping champagne on board your own sailboat or yacht as you watch the sun set over Mount Etna, or dining on a light lunch amidst the sea stacks, the majestic rocks for which the of Taormina is renowned.
We can liaise with the staff at the hotel on your behalf to make sure that the day out at sea is tailored to suit your tastes and to give you both a moment that you’ll be reminiscing over when you reach your Golden Anniversary.
