Fishing village with old Canarian charm

Arguineguin Gran Canaria

Arguineguin is a quieter fishing village on the south coast of Gran Canaria on the edge of the Atlantic.  Here you will find a more traditional Canarian way of life rather than some the more commercialised resorts along the coast.  The busy harbour is home to many fishing boats – so you will be spoilt for choice in the many seafood restaurants found in Arguineguin.

The village also offers a selection of shops for all your holiday needs and a market is held every Tuesday – it is the largest market on the island, so well worth visiting.

Just outside the resort of Arguineguin you can find the luxurious Radisson Blu Resort. It is in a stunning location on the cliff top – so as you would expect has spectacular views of the Altantic Ocean.  This resort really is for those looking to relax and enjoy a perfect holiday.

Days out exploring

The nearby resort of Puerto Rico is just 5 minutes away by car and lovely Mogan just 15 minutes or for a more scenic journey a ferry boat operates from the port of Arguineguin and it will take you to Puerto Rico or to Puerto de Mogan. Arguineguin also boasts a pleasant coastal promenade connecting Arguineguín with the beautiful beaches and coves at Patalavaca.

If you enjoy life on the ocean waves then maybe try a trip on a  glass bottom boat or a  whale-spotting cruise, deep-sea fishing and watersports including diving and scuba diving are also available.

If golf is your game you won’t be disappointed, with ten magnificent courses in Gran Canaria, all developed by top designers, the island is a golfer’s paradise, whether you are a beginner or a budding master.  Not far from Arguinegin is the Salobre Golf a relatively new course,  boasting a superb setting among ravines and volcanic landscapes.
