One of the most popular beaches at Costa Calma is the incredible Playa de Sotavento, a 30 km-long stretch of golden sand with clear, calm, shallow waters, protected from the wind, making it ideal for children.

There are a number of beaches to choose from along this stretch of coast all offering white sand and watersports to keep you busy – there is even a windsurfing school if you want to learn a new skill on holiday!

Once off the beach Costa Calma has an excellent choice of shops. In fact there are eight shopping centres dotted around the town, so a haven for shoppers. There is also a market held in town selling all sorts of souvenirs, crafts and jewellery.

In the town there are numerous eateries to choose from, many family owned – offering traditional home booked Canarian cuisine. If you want to continue into the night, there are bars to tempt you too!

Costa Calma is located minutes away from the Jandia Nature Reserve’s where you can explore the island's spectacular volcanic landscape formed from hot, molten lava. Some great views can be found here.
