A walkers paradise

Plitvice Lakes Croatia

Plitvice Lakes - this national park is world famous for its 16 lakes arranged in cascades. These lakes are a result of the confluence of several small rivers and subterranean rivers all set in this beautiful mountainous area. The lakes are all interconnected each flowing into the next creating lovely waterfalls.

The lakes are renowned for their distinctive colors, ranging from azure to green, grey or blue. The colors change constantly depending on the quantity of minerals or organisms in the water and the angle of sunlight.

The area is home to a wide variety of bird and animal species, such as eagle, owl, brown bear, lynx and wolf to name a few.

The main attraction is hiking and walking. Swimming is not allowed in the lakes.

An easy drive from Zagreb, under two hours, plus other arrival airports and car hire is recommended.

We offer three properties in this area Etno Garden Exclusive is the closest hotel to the lakes, 16 Lakes hotel is a 15 minute drive and Hotel Degenija in Grabovac 6kms away, but there is a shuttle bus to the lakes.
