IDEAL FOR THOSE SEEKING A SLOWER PACE

Best known for its long shingle beaches

Orebic Croatia

Orebic is just a short ferry ride from Korcula and situated on the south western tip of the fertile Peljesac peninsular. Best known for itslong shingle beaches and the lovely chapels and churches set into the hillside with glorious views over to Korcula.

Orebic has a few bars, restaurants and shops and there’s a distinctly laid back atmosphere. We have chosen a small boutique hotel, literallyabout 10 paces from the sea. Suitable for couples looking for a more relaxed environment with some interesting sights within a day’s excursion.

Days Out

Day trips to the gorgeous Trsteno Arboretum, Ston and the Great Wall and to Dubrovnik itself are easy from both Korcula and Orebic. Peljesac peninsula, a great wine growing area where the robust red Dingac wine is produced. Orebic has an interesting history from the time when it was a trading outpost of the Dubrovnik Republic to its fame as a maritime society with generations of sea captains. Today, it is probably best known for its long shingle beaches and the lovely chapels and churches set into the hillside with glorious views over to Korcula.

This summer, don’t miss

A walk up the 101 Dalmatian steps (really!) past towering cypress trees to the top, a stroll around the towers of Korcula town, a performance of Moreska, and from Orebic be sure to visit the wineries on the Peljesac peninsula
