49 air-conditioned rooms including 6 Suites. 2 floors. Very spacious. Rustic country decoration which is rather charming and stylish too. Cream shades and dark wood. Some have wooden floors. Most are doubles or twins. Most are identical in size and style. Suites are larger with sofabed in lounge area for 1 adult or 2 children. Satellite TV, safe, hairdryer, mini-fridge for your use (can be stocked as mini-bar on request). Most bathrooms have walk-in shower. Few with bath and shower. Suites have both. Most rooms and suites have balcony. Views are mainly over fields and woods. Some may have partial views towards the car park.


Main restaurant with lovely outdoor terrace. Available on breakfast only, half or full board. Buffet style depending on number of guests. Fewer than 10 for meals usually means you choose from the regular à la carte menu. Cuisine here is excellent and many locals drop in for dinner. Drinks served on the terrace. From June-early October, a separate café-bar, pizzeria and souvenir shop. Car park. Once a week, traditional spit roast pork or lamb is served.


"Vrata" means gate or door in Croatian and the hotel really is at the gateway to the stunning Krka National Park. The entrance is 5 minutes’ walk away. One of Croatia’s most beautiful National Parks. Some 17 emerald-turquoise blue waterfalls, lakes, caves. Part of the visit is by boat including an island monastery, museum and church. Swimming is allowed in certain spots in the waterfalls and lakes.

Hotel is built in the style of a wooden Alpine lodge. Surrounded by woods and pasture. It opened in 2008 and has been redecorated recently. Free Wi-fi throughout. Fabulous spot for country lovers: walks, the National Park and small stables with 4 horses. Just 12 kilometres to the coast for a day at the beach. An outdoor pool and Spa are planned for 2019.

The hotel offer bicycle hire and there are 3 bike trails close to the hotel, that can be purchased locally.

An 8 kilometre hiking path encompasses Visovac and Roski Waterfalls.

A few minutes walk away towards the park entrance is another café-bar (not hotel owned) and desk operating buggy safaris (approx. £20 per person for one hour. Not hotel operated. High season only).

Other activities that can be organised and paid for locally are: zip line on Cikola river plus walking and hiking tours, varying between 8-12 kms in distance.

Bus to Sibenik. Hotel can organise transport to Sibenik in the morning with collection later. Under £5 return per person.

The entrance to Krka National Park involves 2 tickets. The first approx. £12 for the main entrance. A second ticket costs approx. £14 per person and includes the boat trip and monastery (one hour) with guide, church and museum. There is usually a discount of around 30% on the ticket price if bought at the hotel reception. We offer this hotel at very good prices in September and October. 

Run by really friendly people. The environment is utterly natural and enchanting, so many activities on a “different” Croatia holiday!

We will get you here from Zadar or Split airport in about 45 minutes, but we recommend you hire a car if you plant to do some independent exploring.
