Good location for exploring Istria

Brtonigla v200

The numerous acres of vineyards and olive groves which are surrounded by pathways that lead towards meadows and woods makes this area ideal for walkers and cyclists or just those that appreciate nature at its best.

It is also a place where you can find superior wines and olive oils - many family cellars and tasting premises are open for you to discover these local specialities.

One feature of Brtonigla is its strategic location, which means you can get to all the well-known Istrian beaches and coves in a very short time: Novigrad in 10 minutes, Rovinj and Pula in a half-an-hour drive.

Our chosen hotel in Brtonigla, is the San Rocco Hotel, a family run property that has been voted the best small hotel in Croatia for five years in a row, they combine the lovely accommodation with delightful cuisine.

Support the areas producers and take home some of the local wine, olive oil or honey, all can be found in the shops in Brtonigla.

In the evenings it is not nightclubs that will entertain you but the pleasure of enjoying the culinary delights and top quality wines and olive oils of the region.

As with many regions this one has some great festivals. Don’t miss the Chocolate and wine festival in February or in the summer there are even more to choose from, mostly centred around locally produced food and wine.
