Safe, gently sloping beaches

Baska Voda Croatia

This stretch of coast is generally known as the Makarska Riviera and includes the resort of Baska Voda. It is in the Central Dalmatia region and it is without doubt one of the most beautiful coastal areas in Croatia.

The white pebble beaches tend to be longer here, although there are some small coves and the dramatic grey white tipped Biokovo Mountain range appears to lean over and embrace the coast through an outreach of green pines which spread right down to the water’s edge. Little villages of stone houses, churches and bell towers are never far from the modern resorts and are often part of them.

Charming with a buzz

Baska Voda is a pretty spot which joins the neighbouring resort of Brela just 3 kms south and a pleasant walk away. Its a charming spot and despite having a buzz, it still retains its fishing village feel. Baska  Voda has some excellent beaches including a long white pebble one at the centre and a good selection of restaurants, bars, shops and (usually available) massage on the beach in a straw hut with the sound of the sea just steps away. There are some cool bars close to the beach, and to our featured hotel, with deep furniture and wonderful views across the water.

Watersports and Excursions

Watersports and excursions by boat are also available from all resorts in Central Dalmatia.  Our resort is ideally placed for excursions to the islands of Hvar and Brac and, on the mainland, to Split and Trogir to the north and to the Neretva Delta, Dubrovnik and the island of Korcula to the south. Beaches slope gently making it ideal for children. Excursions are also available into the Biokovo Mountains, home to mouflon and deer and there are tiny hamlets and breathtaking views although the hairpin bends aren’t for the fainthearted.

If you’re looking for a livelier holiday then in high season, Baska Voda would be a good choice.
