Beautiful design and sophisticated charm

A strikingly different property, originally an 18th century ‘grand’ house, San Roque has been lovingly restored but with a combination of classical and artistic flair with stunning pieces of furniture creating a unique character. A four star hotel, San Roque is located in the small town of Garachico on the north west coast of Tenerife in an area called Isla Baja.

As you step in from the quiet side street, through the wooden doors, the calm, gentle atmosphere causes one to sigh and you immediately start to relax. This tranquil feeling comes directly from the family that own and run this delightful place, nothing is too much trouble and their kind courteous attention is another reason that San Roque is special.

This really is a boutique hotel

With just 20 standard and duplex bedrooms, junior suites and one suite in the tower, the atmosphere is intimate and the standards are very high. Each room is unique, with original piece ranging from Bauhaus, the Glasgow school and Spanish and Canarian artists. 

A good library of CD and DVD’s are available free at reception – each room has a CD player, DVD and satellite TV. Air-conditioning, safe, and mini-bar are standard, and every bathroom has a jacuzzi bath, bathrobes and a hairdryer. Duplex rooms are double bedded and have a small separate sitting room downstairs. Wi-fi is also available.

Breakfast is brought to each room every morning or can be enjoyed by the heatable swimming pool. In the courtyard where there is a stunning steel sculpture by Mikel Navarro, the San Roque also has an all day bar and snack service. San Roque does have a daily menu for dinner, payable locally, served in the small Anturium restaurant, exclusive to hotel guests. There are Gala dinners on 24 and 31 Dec these are included in our prices.

Extra services and personal attention

The hotel also offers complimentary sauna, mountain bikes and fishing rods. Tennis and an Olympic size pool are available free to guests nearby. For the golfer - Buenavista Golf, Severiano Ballesteros' golf course in Tenerife is just 10 minutes from the San Roque and the hotel will book for you at reduced rates.

Garachico is a well preserved, unspoilt village; it has a lovely church square, a fascinating history and a quiet quaint charm. There is a choice of shops and restaurants within 5 minutes’ walk and the surrounding countryside and coastline offer many opportunities for enjoyable days out. The hotel would be happy to give advice and guidance. Puerto de la Cruz is only 30 minutes by car if you need a bit of a contrast.

We include a Group B hire car (airport to airport) for greater flexibility, freedom and independence – full directions to the hotel will be given to you.
