Standing just below its sister hotel, the Savoy, the Royal Savoy, a lovely 5-star hotel on the water’s edge, is just a 10 minute stroll from Funchal town centre. The interior décor and furnishings create a warm and welcoming ambience for our clients.

The Royal Savoy has a very modern look and feel to it with nice light cream and brown fabrics. Its location close to town is perfect and it has all the facilities you would expect from a large resort hotel.

Guests have a good choice of accommodation; spacious standard rooms have a balcony and seaview; larger Junior suites have a kitchenette and a sofa bed in the sitting area, suitable for 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children; Superior suites include a full kitchen, a separate sitting room with a sofa bed and a guest shower room, very comfortable for up to 4 guests; the hotel can arrange for the Chef to prepare a special menu in your own kitchen.

Every room type has a full bathroom with walk-in shower, interactive TV with Internet and email access. Bathrobes, hairdryers and free safes are also standard. Superior Suites have a DVD/CD player with surround sound. Complimentary fruit basket and bottled water will be in your room on arrival.

A wide range of facilities

Whilst guests have full use of Savoy Hotel facilities, accessed by a pedestrian footbridge, there are many temptations to linger longer in the Royal Savoy. There are extensive terraces with sea access and 2 outdoor heated seawater pools. A heated indoor pool is close to the Health Suite, which includes a gym, sauna, Jacuzzi and exclusive beauty treatments. The hotel will book golf at both courses with a 20% reduction on green fees.

Dining is à la carte style or buffet service for half board, after an aperitif in the cocktail bar with live music. Gala dinners on 25 & 31 Dec and 1 Feb are included in our prices. There are also very cosy small lounge areas, perhaps to enjoy a coffee and your paperback.
