Formerly a lovely traditional mansion this unique award winning Quinta has been carefully restored and extended, with the addition of the main hotel and a newer wing which is separated from the Quinta by the formally designed extensive gardens.

This charming hotel is a true delight, its beautiful large lounges give the impression of a country house hotel. Surrounded by extensive, lovely gardens and overlooking Funchal to the sea, the town is a five to ten minute drive away.

DINING

The hotel prides itself on good cuisine with a high standard of service and courtesy. A full European breakfast is served in the table d’hôte restaurant and 24 hour room service is available too. An à la carte menu is offered in the beautiful dining room in the old Quinta.

ACCOMMODATION

The original house has four suites which have large bedrooms, separate sitting room or sitting area. The main hotel has cosy twin rooms, some with balcony, others with superior view and balcony towards the bay. All rooms are air-conditioned except the suites in the old Quinta and have a sitting area, hairdryer, bathrobes, free safe, mini-bar, and cable TV. Beautiful larger deluxe rooms with a balcony are also available.

LEISURE FACILITIES

Additional facilities are a heated freshwater swimming pool, bar, card and reading rooms, library, lounge with internet access, snack bar, sauna, gym, Jacuzzi and a tennis court (payable). Free Wi-fi throughout. The hotel can also book golf for you at either course and offers 20% discount on green fees.

About two miles from the centre of Funchal, which can be reached by the day time courtesy bus (not Saturday afternoons or Sundays), this hotel is ideal for a luxurious ‘away from it all’ holiday. The owners also run the Hotel Porto Santo & Spa on the neighbouring island of the same name for something a little different.
