A lovely four star on the seafront of old Funchal

The adults only (minimum age 16 years) Porto Santa Maria is located in the heart of the ‘old town’ of Funchal but right on the seafront. Ideal for those who want to be able to walk to the shops, museums and restaurants in town, but still retaining the atmosphere of a waters edge hotel.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation is made up of Studios which have a sitting area and a kitchenette area comprising: two ring hob, fridge and tea & coffee making facilities or larger Junior Suites with seaview have a sitting room as well as a kitchenette. Each room is air-conditioned and also has a balcony, twin beds, cable LCD TV, safe (small charge) and a hairdryer. Studios have either garden views or seaviews.

DINING

The Porto Santa Maria has a restaurant that serves buffet breakfast, lunch and half board buffet dinner. Why not upgrade to the half board plus (at a supplement) which includes a small bottle of house wine, beer, water or soft drink per person per meal. Lighter lunches are readily available from the poolside snack bar or the terrace.

The attractive Captains Bar is ideal before or after dinner and has live music every night.

LEISURE FACILITIES

The lounge and library add to guest enjoyment, whilst the freshwater pool and children’s pool have lovely views of the sea and Funchal harbour. The indoor heated pool is a great place to relax after a sauna (small charge) or Jacuzzi. There is a gym and two treatment rooms for massage.
