The only hotel in Madeira on a golden sand beach

This lovely beach hotel is a real find in Madeira as generally there are no sandy beaches on the south coast.  But the Calheta is the only hotel situated on a man-made golden sand beach with direct views over the pretty Marina.

Calheta Beach has a half board buffet restaurant offering international cuisine plus Onda Azul which has a Madeiran or Portuguese menu specializing in fresh fish. The three bars, one by the beach, are on hand for all your refreshments.

Free sauna, steam room and gym - windsurfing boards are free too

With outdoor and indoor swimming pools, a sauna and steam room, fitness room (all complimentary to guests), children's play area and occasional live entertainment there is something for everyone. You can even rent Kayaks and windsurfing boards and catamarans are free of charge.

A lovely area of the island to explore

The hotel is ideally located for walking with easy access to the loveliest walks on the west side of the island, varying from a gentle stroll to more ambitious longer hikes in the mountains.
