Salo is a very beautiful small town
Salo is a very beautiful small town steeped in many centuries of history, with a promenade on the lakeside and a wonderful collection of really good restaurants, chic fashion boutiques and pretty narrow streets to explore.
The Laurin was built in the early 1900’s as the Villa Simonini and from its inception until today it has been a treasure trove of Art Nouveau architecture, decoration and furniture.
ACCOMMODATION
Each one of the 32 very comfortable rooms is different. Some rooms have names such as the seven “cheek to cheek” category. These are smaller rooms with garden view, bath or shower, ideal if you wish to spend your time out exploring Salo and the beautiful Lake Garda.
Traditional and superior rooms have a lake view, but no balcony, a bath or shower. La Dolce Vita rooms are very spacious with a balcony, bath and shower. All single rooms are smaller and have a limited garden view and a shower.
DINING
The restaurant serves extremely imaginative table d’hôte and à la carte dinner menus to suit a wide variety of tastes and also has a superb wine list. The marble floor, frescoes and beautifully ornate panelled ceiling provide a superb ambience in which to enjoy fine dining, served under the personal supervision of the owner, Sra. Nicoletta Rossi. Breakfast is buffet style here.
LEISURE FACILITIES
There is an unheated pool in front of the hotel for a welcome dip after a day out exploring. Maybe a massage would ease tired limbs – that can be arranged in your room or in the garden by appointment.
Lounges and a small library provide the ideal spot for an after dinner drink from the bar. Wi-fi is available here too.
Good service, period style and fine dining make the Laurin an excellent choice, and Salo itself is a five to ten minute stroll away.
We include a private taxi transfer from Verona – approx. 40 minutes.
