On the edge of the lake

The Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni, to give it its full name, sits on the point of the peninsula that divides the two southern parts of Lake Como. On the edge of the lake, within a privately owned park, this fascinating hotel offers impeccable service and easy access to the charming historic town of Bellagio and ferry services all over the lake.

First opened in 1873, the staircases, the frescoed ceilings, rich gilt mirrors and chandeliers of Murano glass lend the public areas a sense of great style and period charm. The Villa has been owned by the Bucher family for three generations.

ACCOMMODATION

There are four types of room with views of the lake or the grounds: Classic double rooms, larger deluxe rooms which can accommodate a 3rd guest, executive double rooms with a sitting room or a sitting area capable of taking a 3rd and 4th guest and senior suites with a separate sitting room. Each room has internet connection, a delightful bathroom with a separate walk-in shower as well as a bath.

DINING

The inner guest is well served in the elegant  Mistral restaurant, which has a Michelin star and serves gourmet food in a formal setting with live music in the evening (smart casual please). New for 2012 the restaurant is now situated on the main hotel terrace, Terrazza Serbelloni, facing the lake.

The newly opened and more informal La Goletta restaurant is located next to the swimming pool in a wonderful location overlooking both the pool and the lake. La Goletta serves typical Italian menus with a buffet of starters and desserts as well as a choice of pasta, fish and meat courses. Food here will be served from noon until late evening, whether it is a full meal or simply a quick snack. Breakfast is a full buffet or waiter service in the exquisite Salone Reale on the first floor.

LEISURE FACILITIES & SPA 

The Villa Serbelloni has two tennis courts and, in the Fitness Centre, a squash court, two gyms, one for cardio vascular workouts and a second for Pilates. A sauna, Turkish bath and massage facilities can also be found here. The spa includes a beauty farm with a wide choice of programmes lasting three to six days. Individual treatments are also on hand.

Two indoor swimming pools, one for children, are close by. The large outdoor pool sits on a flower filled terrace next to the lake.
