Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life and many people are now choosing to celebrate this special day abroad in a beautiful location which might (dare we say) prove more cost effective than staying in the UK, providing an on the spot honeymoon too. Croatia is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe: its coastline and islands have the ultimate wow factor and the country has become famous and sought after during the past 20 years: Brits have been buying homes there, millions of tourists flock there each summer and world celebrities are taking more than a passing interest.

Why endure a long haul flight with time zone changes for your special day when you can get married in Croatia around a two hour flight away from a number of UK airports?

We are offering marriage ceremonies and wedding packages in two truly lovely locations: the famous, medieval city of Dubrovnik with its ramparts and old town carved in stone, cultural monuments and a five star hotel package, or the lesser known island of Rab with its pretty polished streets in Rab Town. Four famous towers that brush the skyline, gardens and parks, sandy beaches (rare in Croatia) with travel by water-taxi and staying in and celebrating at four star hotels. Your wedding day must be how you want it to be and all arrangements can be tailor-made for you.

WEDDING IDEAS – DUBROVNIK

We offer weddings at the five star Excelsior Hotel and Spa close to the old city with a terrace that has the best view of the city walls at sunset and at its sister hotel, the five star Dubrovnik Palace Hotel with beautiful pool areas and where all rooms have a wonderful seaview. Special celebrations or even your first night as husband and wife can be spent at the hotel or at the Lighthouse Grebeni, five minutes away by speed boat.

The marriage ceremony can take place in a church, chapel (subject to permission) or in a designated area of the hotels including the Palm Terrace (surrounded by palm trees) on the white stone beach quay or by the outdoor pools. If there are fewer than 25 people you could even get married on the huge terrace of Lighthouse Grebeni with the blue Adriatic sea on all sides. Reception celebrations range from canapés with Champagne or Croatian sparkling wine to an elegant candle-lit dinner with dancing and even fireworks.

You can fly to Dubrovnik from Belfast, Birmingham, Dublin, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Leeds, Bradford, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted and Manchester followed by a 30 minute transfer to the hotels. All prices on request.

WEDDINGS IDEAS – ISLAND OF RAB

We offer weddings at the four star Grand Hotel Imperial set in a beautiful little park, a few minutes walk into Rab town and at the four star Hotel Carolina on the beautiful tranquil bay at Suha Punta, under 15 minutes from Rab Town. 

The Grand Imperial has a Royal love affair connection since it was in 1936 that King Edward VIII and his partner Wallis Simpson moored their yacht off Rab during a romantic summer cruise and came for lunch in the hotel and a stroll through town. There is a Royal Corner in the hotel and a plaque in the town square to commemorate their visit.

The island is small, just 14 miles by ten miles with some amazingly diverse scenery: rugged lunar type landscape, lush vineyards and beautiful churches – plus something rare in Croatia – golden sandy beaches, 22 of them.

There are 27 churches and you can get married in one of them (subject to permission), in gardens, on rocks by the sea, in a vineyard, on a golden sandy beach, at an outdoor pool terrace or among the columns and ruins of historic buildings such as those at the Church and Monastery of St John the Evangelist. There are many photo opportunities including travel by water-taxi.

As in Dubrovnik, the marriage is conducted by a priest or local official in English. In the event that a translator is needed, one will be supplied.

We have produced a sample wedding package for your wedding on Rab to provide you with  an idea of options and costs (excluding flight and accommodation costs):
• Marriage formalities including registration, documentation in Croatia and the marriage ceremony €250 per couple (documents and procedures in the UK are at your expense)
• Wedding celebrations for a party of ten people would be €2000 including:
• transport from hotel to marriage ceremony venue
• hire of ceremony venue (church, chapel, historic ruins, hotel terrace, garden, beach, rocky terrace)
• small, natural style floral posy for the bride (choice of colour scheme)
• photographer at ceremony and reception for 90 minutes and CD of pictures
• three glasses of Croatian sparkling wine per person and soft drinks plus canapés
• wedding cake (with candles if required)
• ten minutes use of water-taxi for photos if required.

You can fly to Rijeka from London Heathrow or London Stansted followed by a 90 minute transfer to Rab including a 12 minute ferry crossing.
