Enjoy more of Croatia in one holiday

With good roads and short ferry hops to the islands, a two centre holiday in Croatia is a fantastic way to enjoy different places in just one holiday. Many return visitors to Croatia choose two centre holidays and visit new places each time.

Sometimes, combining a few days sightseeing in Zagreb, Croatia’s capital city with a  few more days sea and spa experience on the coast can be a perfect combination - especially if you are short of time.

If you want to experience at least one of those amazing 1,244 Croatian islands, then choose an island and a mainland resort combination but bear in mind that a number of islands can also be visited for the day on an excursion boat or by regular ferry.

We can design a holiday with combinations to suit you, either based on transfers between places where we do all the work and you just sit back and enjoy the journey or where you drive yourself in a hire-car (we provide detailed directions) providing you with complete independence. Please note that ferry tickets cannot be bought in advance for the short crossings which feature in these holidays. If using transfers, the ferry cost is included and our representative will provide you with ferry tickets on arrival. If opting for selfdrive, these can be bought, without fuss, at the embarkation port where ticket vendors speak English – sample cost for car and two adults from Split to Supetar on island of Brac (50 minutes) is approximately £31 and shorter crossings cost less.

It’s also worth remembering that Croatian airports are not large and collecting and dropping a rental car is easy and totally unlike doing this at one of the busy UK airports - there are no long walks or bus transfers.

CAPITAL CITY OF ZAGREB AND THE OPATIJA COAST
5 NIGHTS FROM £489 OR 7 NIGHTS FROM £616

Fly to Zagreb (two hours) and transfer downtown for 2 nights in the capital, enjoy sightseeing, restaurants, culture and shopping. Transfer back to Zagreb airport, collect your hire car and make the two hour drive (mostly motorway) to Opatija for 3 or 5 nights and enjoy the resort that some call the “Nice of the Adriatic”. Enjoy swimming, seaside walks, tiny fishing villages, boat trips, spa treatments, some fabulous fish restaurants, Ucka Nature park and hilltop villages - or just relax. Drive back to Zagreb airport, drop the car there and fly back to UK.

THE ISLAND OF BRAC AND TUCEPI OR MAKARSKA

Fly to Split (two hours 20 mins) and transfer to Brac for 5 or 7 nights at the four star Grand Hotel Bluesun Elaphusa. Enjoy swimming from the famous V shaped Zlatni Rat beach, enjoy the resort of Bol, explore abandoned villages or Vidova Gora. Then transfer by ferry from Sumartin to Makarska on the mainland and a ten minute drive to Tucepi for the rest of your stay at the four star Hotel Laurentum. Enjoy the beaches and the resort, take a fish picnic or a day excursion to Split or Dubrovnik. On your last day, return transfer to Split airport (under two hours) and fly home. We offer this holiday both with transfers or as a self-drive option where you collect your car at Split airport on arrival and drop it there when you leave. If you hire a car and drive yourself, the options to explore are endless.

THE ISLAND KORCULA AND DUBROVNIK
14 NIGHTS FROM £616

Fly to Dubrovnik (two hours 30 mins) and transfer to the island of Korcula (two hours 30 mins including 15 min ferry crossing) for a 7 night stay at the four star Hotel Marko Polo. Enjoy the sights of Korcula, the vineyards, fortresses, towers and churches and then on day eight, return to Dubrovnik for the final week of your holiday in one of the most famous walled medieval cities in Europe. Stay at the four star Hotel Lero or Grand Park both well located for buses to the old city and excursions. At the end of your stay, transfer back to Dubrovnik airport (35 mins) or drop car there for the flight home.

THE ISLAND OF RAB AND OPATIJA

Fly to Rijeka (two hours) and transfer to the beautiful island of Rab (around two hours including ten minute ferry crossing) for 5 or 7 nights staying at the four star Hotel Grand Imperial in Rab Town. Explore the medieval old town of Rab and perhaps climb one of the towers, enjoy sandy beaches, travel by water taxi and dine out in restaurants located in former private palaces or wine cellars. After 5 or 7 nights, transfer back to the mainland and to Opatija for the rest of your holiday staying in the four star Grand Hotel in Opatija. Enjoy seaside walks, spa treatments, boat trips, shopping and concerts or just relax. Wide choice of excursions from Opatija including Plitvice National Park or a day trip to neighbouring Slovenia. At the end of your stay, transfer back to Rijeka airport (40 mins) for your flight home.

As Rab is a small island (14 miles long and ten miles wide) you don’t need a car, so we
offer this twin centre using transfers, not as a self-drive option. 10 nights from £819 per person.

LOVRAN AND ROVINJ

Fly to Pula or Rijeka (two hours) and transfer to Lovran in the Kvarner region for 5 or 7 nights staying at the four star Park Hotel just minutes from the little old town of Lovran and the waterfront. Enjoy boat trips, a fish picnic day excursion to the islands of Krk and Cres, a concert or two, walks along the famous Lungo Mare and some excellent fish restaurants. After 5 or 7 nights transfer (under two hours) into the Istria region for 5 or 7 nights at another four star, Hotel Park in Rovinj, located close to the centre and with lovely views across the bay to the old town.
