Memorable self-drive experiences

Croatia is a great country for exploring by yourself. Roads and ferries are excellent and you can discover some wonderful places in just seven days. Last year, we were regularly asked for driving itineraries that took in some of Croatia’s national parks, coastal resorts with some time for relaxation along the way.

We can tailor-make any independent itinerary from three days to three weeks and you normally pick up your hire car at your arrival airport in Croatia and drop it there when you leave. Full details are sent with your confirmation. Three sample, seven day itineraries are shown below and we offer these from April to October, though please be aware that July and August are peak season in Croatia: roads are more congested and there may be queues for ferries at ports. Approximate driving distances below do not include ferry crossings (tickets to be bought locally). Sample per person prices are based on a seven night stay, two sharing a room in three or four star hotels on BB basis inclusive of return flights from London and Group B car hire. THE ISTRIA EXPERIENCE: Pula airport

Pula – Fazana – Brijuni (Islands) National Park (boat 20 minutes) - Rovinj or Porec – Motovun – Pula.

A tapestry of stunning hilltop villages, medieval/ historic towns, glorious coastal resorts, national parks, Roman ruins, great beaches, olive groves and vineyards (some of the best products in Croatia) and breathtaking views.

THE MAINLY DALMATIAN EXPERIENCE: Split airport

Split – Makarska – island of Brac (ferry 40 - 50 minutes depending on route taken) – Krka National Park – Plitvice National Park- Zadar – Trogir (close to Split airport).

A combination of mountain backdrops, fabulous resorts and beaches, one of the most famous Dalmatian islands, staggeringly beautiful national parks with waterfalls, lakes and more plus the city of Split.

THE SOUTHERN DALMATIAN EXPERIENCE: Dubrovnik airport

Dubrovnik – island of Mljet National Park – island of Korcula – Neretva Delta/Peljesac peninsula – Cavtat (close to Dubrovnik airport).

Croatia’s most famous city and the islands of Mljet and Korcula, the former a national park, the other steeped in history, the flat wetlands and canals of the Neretva Delta/wine growing Peljesac peninsula and the walls of Ston visible from space plus the stylish seaside resort of Cavtat.
