The hotel is pronounced “oss-ay-arva”.
A fabulous boutique hotel which opened in 2009 and which we give a four star plus rating. Originally built in 1929, the hotel has been redesigned by a brilliant architect who has used local Dalmatian white stone both inside and outside the hotel to great effect. Interior corridors and spaces look like real Dalmatian streets complete with front doors to rooms and washing hanging on a line! Located right on the shore, it is just a five minute walk into the centre of town.
Whilst the main beach of Makarska is fabulous, there is another smaller pebble beach that locals know and visitors don’t. Nugal beach is wedged between rocks streaked in scarlet and is a real gem. 3 kms southeast of Makarska, the marked trails to the beach start close to the Osejava hotel. The hotel is pronounced “oss-ay-arva”.
