The 4 star hotel is in a stunning island location
Just a 15 minute boat ride away from Rovinj. The island is known as Red Island (Crveni Otok in Croatian) and this is actually made up of two smaller islands separated by a causeway accessible on foot.
The Hotel Istra is situated on Sv. Andrija Island, (or St Andrew Island) and uninhabited Maskin Island is across the causeway and is mostly a wooded area with some swimming from the rocks.
The hotel is set among trees with gravel and rocky beaches with the sea just minutes away and being surrounded by water gives it a somewhat Robinson Crusoe feel. The old, former Huellerott family castle adjacent to the hotel is now a fine dining restaurant.
