A wonderful seashore location
With views to the sea and the island of Korcula, the Grand Hotel Orebic is an All-Inclusive hotel in a quieter setting and will suit couples and families who plan to spend time at the hotel which was extensively renovated in 2006. The reception area is designed with a striking aquamarine and gold colour scheme (which works surprisingly well) with a big terrace by the main lobby bar.
There is a gently sloping, pebble beach right in front of the hotel. Located right at the southernmost tip of the Peljesac peninsula, the resort is just a ten minute stroll away and has a few bars and restaurants, excursions are offered and a trip over to Korcula is easy on the regular ten minute ferry crossing with a choice of regular ferry or smaller shuttle service in peak season (foot passengers only, no cars).
ROOMS
184 air-conditioned rooms decorated in light colours with views of the sea or mountains although, somewhat curiously, the hotel was designed with fewer rooms with balconies - family rooms have balconies. All have satellite TV, hairdryer and safe, internet connection and bathrooms with walk-in showers. Larger, superior double rooms and junior suites can accommodate an extra bed for a child.
LIVING
Large buffet restaurant with lovely outdoor terrace area and beach grill which usually opens late June to end of August. Three bars including lobby, pool and terrace. Please note that the All-Inclusive offer excludes drinks at the lobby bar. Outdoor adult and small children’s freshwater swimming pools set in lovely gardens. Watersports in high season. There are dance and art classes.
All-Inclusive comprises buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with house wine, beer, water and juices at lunch and dinner. Afternoon coffee, tea, ice-cream and biscuits for one hour at 4pm and pizzas from 1 - 3pm in addition to lunch in the main restaurant. From
10am to 11pm, local spirits and draught drinks (house wine, beer, water and juices) are available from two bars. Daily and evening adult entertainment programme, children’s club (for ages four to twelve) with activities and animation, sports facilities at the multipurpose sports ground and table tennis. Note that sunbeds and shades on the pool terrace are included whereas there is a charge for these on the public beach.
This is a good hotel which attracts a number of French and German guests (who told us that they were very happy at the hotel – particularly with the meals) but is still fairly new to the UK market.
Orebic is a smaller resort with a huge maritime history and even in high season is not as busy as other resorts.
Transfer time from Dubrovnik airport – approx. two hours.
