Guests may opt for a spacious double bedroom with either garden view or panoramic mountain and ocean views, a junior suite with a separate sitting area through an archway or a really lovely full suite with a separate sitting room. One suite has 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms – ideal for families. The Presidential Suite is the ultimate in spacious comfort, located on the top floor, it has a large terrace with sun loungers and a dressing room.

Whatever you choose, your accommodation will be carpeted and will include cable TV, Wi-fi, a mini-bar with free soft drinks and beers on arrival for Prestige guests only (not replenished) and air-conditioning. Views are always of the gardens with the majority also looking to the mountains or the Bay of Funchal.

The main panoramic restaurant is in the old manor house and retains the original architecture and ambience of Madeira’s past and offers gourmet cuisine prepared by a top executive chef. The verandah and terrace are inviting for alfresco dining on warm evenings. As an occasional alternative the restaurant offers an à la carte menu or why not try the tasting menu or the fado dinner? The Pool Bar serves drinks, snacks and light lunches. Gala dinners on 24 and 31 Dec and 4 Apr are included in our prices.

The Chandra Spa offers an extensive menu of treatments including new age massages and shower rituals, complimentary use of the jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath, relaxation room, sensation shower, and fitness room. The centre of Funchal is a 20 minute walk downhill but there is a courtesy bus to town and to sister hotels every day (except bank holidays and Sundays). Exchange dining is an attractive way to sample the kitchens at Quinta do Estreito, do Monte and Perestrello with 4 other restaurants to chooses from with a free shuttle service.
