A four star located in a quieter residential area of Funchal

This very welcoming smaller hotel is in the more interesting older part of the city and has super views over the bay some 200 metres away. An excellent choice of shops, bars and restaurants are within a walk of 5-10 minutes.

The original Quinta was built some 100 years ago and has been extended to offer a total of 64 comfortable guest rooms. Each one has cable TV, a mini-bar, air-conditioning/heating, bathrobes and hairdryer. Inland rooms face neighbouring houses, but we are offering rooms that overlook the pool with garden view or a full sea view and balcony.

The attractive junior suites on the top floor have sloping ceilings and a sitting area. The full suites have a separate lounge and are very spacious, and ideal for families with older children or just for added comfort. Two family rooms, no balcony, are available in the attic. Junior Suites and Suites have a separate shower in the bathroom.

Half board can be taken as lunch or dinner

Breakfast is an extensive buffet service in the Winter Garden or on the terrace with views towards the bay. Half-board can be booked for all or part of your stay, to enjoy a four course menu for dinner. If you would prefer to take your half board as lunch, this is easily arranged with the hotel. There is also an à la carte menu with a small credit for HB guests and room service is available 7.30-21.00 hours. Gala meals on 24 and 31 Dec are included in our prices. The cocktail bar has live music four times a week

The outside areas are very attractive

Quinta Bela Sao Tiago’s outdoor heatable freshwater pool and terraces look out over the gardens and the banana plantations, sun beds, pool towels and umbrellas are free. The pool has a small section for children. There is also a Jacuzzi, sauna and a small gym. If you are a golfer, the hotel will arrange tee-off times and transport to either of Madeira’s golf courses. There is a small Lido on the water’s edge below the hotel offering pool or sea bathing (small entry fee) the Lido is not part of the Quinta.
