Two hotels in one… worth reading on for more details
Playa Blanca has become a popular and expanding resort on the south coast of Lanzarote. Here you will find the lovely beachfront 5 star Luxe Princesa Yaiza which offers something for everyone.
First we have the Princesa Yaiza itself
Each of the 330 mostly suites and twin rooms are spacious and furnished to a very high standard with wood, attractive textiles and modern bathrooms. The twin rooms have a smaller sitting area than the Junior Suites whilst the Suites have a separate sitting room and a walk-in shower in the bathroom. All rooms have satellite TV, mini-bar, safe, hairdryer, bathrobes, air-conditioning and terrace or balcony. Extra beds are sofa beds 1.7m long. Views are of the gardens, side seaview, pool view or full seaview at a supplement.
Up to five restaurants for dinner
Dining here is flexible, with up to three restaurants available to standard Half Board guests: International food is offered buffet and show-cooking style for breakfast and dinner in the Yaiza; and the Italian and Mexican are also for breakfast and dinner. There are also two à la carte restaurants (reservations required) the Japanese ‘Kampai’ and the new Italian 'Don Giovanni' both available for guests on the deluxe half board meal plan (including the other 3 half board restaurants). For even more choice the grand deluxe half board offers a total of seven restaurants to choose from including the gourmet ‘Isla de Lobos’ and the 'Mas Tapas' Spanish restaurant. Both the latter half board options are available at a higher supplement. Some restaurants may close in quieter periods. 24 hour room service is also available. Gala dinners on 25 and 31 Dec are included for half board guests (not available for BB guests).
Lunch and poolside drinks are served at El Chiringuito whilst the two bars have charmingly different atmospheres often with live music.
Newly opened area with ice cream parlour, jazz club and more
The Princesa Yaiza Plaza is a newly opened precinct where you will find restaurants together with an Italian Ice cream parlour and a Jazz Club. Set back from the promenade the Plaza is open for non-residents too.
Sport or Spa
For outdoor activities: there are two swimming pools, one seawater and one heatable freshwater with views towards the sea and beach, a Jacuzzi, plus a children’s pool. Sports include 2 squash courts, 2 floodlit tennis courts, volleyball, table tennis, snooker and a free gym and sauna.
Children are catered for with a huge “soft playroom” for younger children, a separate play area with 3 small pools and an entertainment programme “Kikoland” which will cater for all age groups from 3 to 16 years old. For more details on this please ask us. We recommend parental supervision of children at all times.
There is a super Thalasso Centre for a wide range of beauty and health treatments and an indoor treatments pool with jets.
Princesa Yaiza offers good service and a selection of shops and is extremely popular with our guests, so early booking is recommended.
Now for part two – the Family Suites at Princesa Yaiza
These lovely family suites are part of Princesa Yaiza but are located in their own annexe grounds across the road and are specifically designed for families. The main hotel, the other restaurants and facilities can easily be reached by a connecting covered walkway.
There are just 55 suites here, each one with ample space for 2 adults and 2 or 3 children, although up to 4 adults and 1 child would also be comfortable. The main bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom, whilst the second bedroom has a shower room and wc across the hall. The sitting room is very well furnished and includes a sofa bed, approx. 5' 7", so not really suitable for adults.
This building is air-conditioned and every suite has a fridge, satellite TV, a free safe, bathrobes and slippers for adults, pool towels, and a hairdryer. Each balcony or terrace looks over the pool and gardens.
There is a heatable freshwater swimming pool and a children’s pool too, as always we urge supervision of young children in pools and on balconies. There is also a supervised gym here.
All of the facilities in the main hotel can be used by guests staying in the Family Suites
Half board meals are taken in any of the 3 half board restaurants in the main hotel. The dining options are the same as the main hotel, detailed above. 24 hour room service is also available here. Playa Blanca offers a huge range of dining options for lunch as an alternative.
The children’s club will keep the little ones entertained
Kikoland provides children’s entertainment for groups of 3-6 years, 7-11 years and 12-16 years, with 3 swimming pools, mini disco and children’s shows. Obviously, the success of Kikoland depends on the number of children attending. This facility is across the road at the side of Princesa Yaiza and the beach is just in front of it.
There is also a large bar here for snacks and drinks. Maybe you would prefer a peaceful time in the Thalasso Centre, the Spa on the promenade in front of the Princesa Yaiza, just book an appointment!
We recommend the Family Suites as they are designed specifically for families, and offer good standards. We strongly recommend early booking as these suites are very popular too.
For your comfort we do include two taxis for 4 guests or more from the airport.
We include private taxi transfers – approx. 35 mins.
