Two hotels in one… worth reading on for more details

Playa Blanca has become a popular and expanding resort on the south coast of Lanzarote. Here you will find the lovely beachfront five star Luxe Princesa Yaiza which offers something for everyone.

ACCOMMODATION

Each of the 330 mostly suites and twin rooms are spacious and furnished to a high standard with wood, attractive textiles and modern bathrooms. Twin rooms have a smaller sitting area than the Junior Suites whilst the Suites have a separate sitting room and a walk-in shower. All rooms have satellite TV, mini-bar, safe, hairdryer, bathrobes, air-conditioning and terrace or balcony. Extra beds are sofa beds 1.7m long. Views are of the gardens, side seaview, pool view or full seaview at a supplement.

DINING

Dining here is flexible, with up to three buffet restaurants available to standard half board guests: International food is offered buffet and show cooking style for breakfast and dinner in the Yaiza; the Italian, La Piazzetta, and the Mexican, La Hacienda (open on varying nights). There are also three à la carte restaurants (reservations required) the Japanese ‘Kampai’, the Italian ‘Don Giovanni’ and the gourmet ‘Isla de Lobos’, all available for guests on the Deluxe half board meal plan at a higher supplement (including the other three half board restaurants), or tapas at the “Mas Tapas”. Some restaurants may close in quieter periods. 24 hour room service is of course available. Lunch and poolside drinks are served at El Chiringuito and there are two bars with charmingly different atmospheres.

The Princesa Yaiza Plaza, often with live music, is a precinct where you will find restaurants together with an ice cream parlour and a Jazz Club. Set back from the promenade the Plaza is open for non-residents too.

LEISURE FACILITIES & SPA

There are two swimming pools, one seawater and one heatable freshwater, two Jacuzzis, plus a children’s pool. Sports include two squash courts, two floodlit tennis courts, volleyball, table tennis, snooker and a free gym and sauna. There is a super Thalasso Centre for a wide range of beauty and health treatments and an indoor treatments pool with jets.

CHILDREN

Younger children are catered for with a huge soft playroom a separate play area with three small pools and an entertainment programme “Kikoland” which caters for all age groups from
three to sixteen years old. For more details on this please ask us.

We recommend parental supervision at all times. Obviously the success of Kikoland is dependent on the number of children attending. Princesa Yaiza offers a selection of shops within the hotel and good service and so is very popular.

FAMILY SUITES AT PRINCESA YAIZA

These lovely family suites are part of Princesa Yaiza but are located in their own annexe grounds across the road.

The main hotel, the other restaurants, and facilities can be reached by a connecting covered walkway.

ACCOMMODATION

There are just 55 suites here, each one with ample space for two adults and two or three children (3rd child on a sofabed), although up to four adults and one child would also be comfortable. The main bedroom is ensuite, whilst the second bedroom has use of a separate
shower room and wc. The sitting room includes a 1.7m sofabed.

The new Royal Kiko Family Suites will accommodate all three children in the 2nd bedroom, have a Playstation, DVD and include other little extras, please ask for details.

This annexe building is air-conditioned and every suite has a fridge, satellite TV, a free safe, bathrobes and slippers for adults, pool towels and a hairdryer. Each balcony or terrace looks over the pool and gardens.

DINING

Half board meals are taken in any of the three half board buffet restaurants in the main hotel. Deluxe half board also includes three à la carte restaurants, Japanese ‘Kampai’, the Italian ‘Don Giovanni’ and the gourmet ‘Isla de Lobos’, available at a higher supplement. Lunch time snacks and all day drinks service are available from the pool bar at Yaiza. 24 hour room service available here. Playa Blanca also offers many restaurants.

CHILDREN

Kikoland offers children’s entertainment for groups of three to six years, seven to eleven years and 12-16 years, with three swimming pools, mini disco and children’s shows. Obviously, the success of Kikoland depends on the number of children attending. This facility is at Princesa Yaiza and the beach is just in front. There is also a large bar here for snacks and drinks.

LEISURE FACILITIES & SPA

There is a heatable freshwater swimming pool and a children’s pool too, as always we urge supervision of young children in pools and on balconies. There is also a supervised gym here. Maybe you would prefer a peaceful time in the Thalasso Centre, a spa on the promenade in front of the Princesa Yaiza.
