Rediscover Sensations at Hotel Rural Las Calas

Nestled high in the heart of Gran Canaria’s rugged mountains you will find this delightful rural hotel, close to the protected areas of Cumbre and Pino Santo, rich in ecosystems and birdlife.

Once a 17th century manor house that has been tastefully renovated with a mix of traditional Spanish furnishings and African flair.

There are just 9 rooms here, of which 2 are junior suites and 1 suite, built around a lush central garden, each has been individually decorated with white wash walls and dark wood, and personal touches from owner Magui, ensure a comfy, personal feel. All rooms have either twin or double bed, satellite TV, mini-bar, heating, free safe, bathrobes and hairdryer.

Breakfast is buffet style and served in the quaint dining room. For guests choosing half board, the cuisine is typical Canarian and international set menu, all prepared from locally harvested products. There are a few restaurants in the local town of San Mateo, 3kms away, for guests wishing to dine out.

Within the gardens not only will you find the 2 resident dogs but also the swimming pool (unheated) with loungers for relaxing, weather permitting. The hotel has a lounge with and honesty bar and an open-fire for cooler days. As this hotel is 900 meters above sea level, it is cooler than on the coast.
