Other things to do in Marbella
Every sport and water sport you can think of is catered for along this coastline and to list them all here would be impossible.
For water sports away from the hotel’s own facilities there are three marinas in Marbella where most water sports are available,
Other than the normal sports you would expect why not visit the Marbella Gun and Country Club a 20 minute drive from town within the Sierra De Las Nieves Natural Park close to the village of Monda, where you can enjoy a day for all the family as they offer a variety of activities including Horse Riding, Quad Bikes that are taken on mountain trails with supervision, Air Pistols and Cross Bow and we enjoyed the Clay Shooting here. All activities are under the supervision of qualified instructors. This makes a great day out and countryside is terrific.
A visit to the Aquarium in Puerto Banus is huge fun for the children in particular with lots of interaction.
If you are in Marbella (town) wander down the Avenida La Fonatnilla and you will find a lovely park near the seafront with a children’s play area, beautiful seasonal flowers and you may even find that there is a festival or concert on as this is one of the locations for many of the summer festivities,
If its horses you are interested in then the Escuela de Arte Ecuestra de la Costa del Sol is well worth a visit either to ride or to see some of the training classes or one of the excellent shows they put on. Alvaro Domecq, Spaion’s well known horseman runs this school.
Shopping in Marbella
Avenida Ramon y Cajal is the main street for designer shops in Marbella but don’t miss some of the side streets north of this street and near Orange Tree square, some of the shops here are well worth a visit too. There is something for every taste and pocket. There is a street market in Marbella every Monday morning next to the
Peurto Banus, needless to say, also has some fabulous shopping and just before you head down to the Banus there is a huge El Corte Ingles which has many things under one roof.
If you like street markets, there is on every Monday in Marbella, from 9 am to 2 pm, near the stadium. It has stalls with a wide range of goods. In Estepona it is on Wednesday same time in the town centre and on a Sunday near the small port.
Other activities include
You can do jeep tours, boat trips, visit Funny Beach with the children it has so many activities including go karts, trampolines, bumper cars and more. There is the Natura Aventura Theme park in San Pedro that has a climbing wall as well as kayaks, quad bikes, archery and paintballing. There certainly are plenty of activities for the younger guest.
