This well located hotel in Elounda is good value and has some unique features. The most enchanting is that from many of the recently renovated rooms in the main building you have direct access from your balcony to one of the swimming pools. There are long pools running the length of the building or smaller plunge pools. These pools are all seawater, whereas the ‘normal’ pool, with children’s paddling pool, near the beach is fresh water.

The choice of accommodation is more flexible too. As well as the deluxe pool access rooms which have a sea view, there are deluxe twins with sea view, suites with or without pool access, deluxe rooms with private pool and an exclusive two-bedroom suite with private pool. Cots are free of charge.

All of the attractively furnished Cretan style rooms have seaview, air-conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, hairdryer, mini-bar, safe and fully fitted marble bathrooms. Welcome fruit in your room on arrival with our compliments.

Dining and shopping all on site

The main building has been cleverly designed to allow maximum light and space in the public areas. This is where you will find the Nafsika restaurant which serves buffet breakfast and table d’hôte dinner and a new childrens restaurant close by. The terrace here is alongside one of the long pools. Also in this area of the hotel is a lobby bar and lounge with piano music. On the water’s edge the Odysseus Taverna (high season) is open for lunch, for dinner there is the à la carte restaurant “Elies” (high season) under olive trees near the beach. The Playiada shopping square has boutiques, jewellers, art gallery, souvenirs, the pro shop and the chapel.

The private beach and water sports

The private beach, where snacks and drinks are served at the beach bar, May-Oct, has free towels, sunbeds and sunshades and is a lovely spot to relax. But for the more sporty guest Porto Elounda offers tennis, table tennis and a games room. . For the water sports enthusiast there is S.C.U.B.A. diving, sailing, water skiing and windsurfing.

What about the little ones?

Well they deserve the best too. The Children’s Ark, is based at Porto Elounda has a special character and is animal themed. With indoor and outdoor playgrounds, two shallow supervised pools, children will be entertained by professionals as well as learning a little of the Greek way of life and culture. The Children’s Ark is open 6 days a week 10am - 6pm. Children are split into groups: Creche 6 months – 2 years, Penguins 2 - 4 years, Dolphins 4 - 6 years and 8 - 10 years.

Six Senses Spa

The hotel also offers a freshwater indoor pool, sauna, Turkish Hammam and fitness room, all free of charge. The new Six Senses Spa opened during last summer, the communal area is beautiful with therapeutic pools with jets, and offers aromatic showers and various massages and treatments and a hairdresser. 

Golfers will be happy too!

For golfers this hotel is ideal as it has a private par 3, 9 hole course, handicap 54 required with a backdrop of mountains and the sea in front. The impression is of an 18 hole course as there are two difficulty options at each tee and varying character at each hole A resident English speaking pro is on hand. Club rental, a fully stocked pro shop and putting green are available.
