Glorious setting in the lovely Mallorcan village of Deia

This renowned Orient-Express hotel has become a symbol of informal elegance and romantic seclusion in a glorious setting of mountains and coast in an extremely attractive village.

The hotel is arranged in four buildings, one from each of the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries and a new one designed to blend in. As the La Residencia is on a hillside there are paths bordered by lovely gardens leading guests around some 30 landscaped acres. The style throughout is traditional, with many antiques providing a simple yet classic elegance.

There are just 32 double rooms, classic or slightly larger superior categories, 4 singles, 17 junior suites, 2 superior suites with a sitting room and 4 luxury suites (3 with a private pool and 1 with a plunge pool). La Residencia have now added “Tramuntana" suites located on the hill overlooking the village of Deia with the sea in the distance, all with terrace and small garden.

Each accommodation is furnished and decorated individually in Mallorcan style, neutral tones, shuttered windows and lovely fresh flowers every day from the hotel’s gardens. Some have a private balcony or terrace and some have a four poster bed, only two have twin beds. TV/DVD and MP3, fridge, air conditioning/heating, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers and safe are standard.

Dining is a real pleasure and can be very romantic at La Residencia.

The romantic El Olivo is set in a former olive press, offering a superb menu and wine list. The Son Fony is an alternative to El Olivo, offering international and Mediterranean cuisine. Gala meals are payable locally.

For active moments the hotel has 2 tennis courts with a resident coach and two heatable outdoor freshwater swimming pools and a gym. The area is also well suited to walks of varying difficulty in the surrounding hills – advice is given with pleasure at the hotel. La Residencia will, of course, book your tee off times at the island’s golf courses and arrange complimentary mountain bikes too.

For some personal pampering, the Beauty Salon offers relaxation therapies, massage and facials. The Spa has 6 treatment rooms with outdoor massage areas, an indoor pool, and outdoor jacuzzi with gorgeous views, a gym, a sauna and a steam room.
