A good value hotel only 5 minutes from the airport

Grotto Bay Resort sits on a sub-tropical estate with 21 acres of grounds on the waters edge in Baileys Bay only 5 minutes from the airport.  This casual property has 3 beaches and 201 rooms in 11 brightly coloured low rise buildings on a gentle hill.

Grotto Bay offers colourfully furnished renovated rooms, some of which inter-connect and would suit families.  Each has an ocean view with balcony, coffee maker, iron and board, fridge, safe, hairdryer, Cable TV, internet access, air-conditioning and a small marble bathroom. 

All rooms are identical only the location differs, some have a king size bed, others have two double beds. Superior rooms are on the ground floor, Deluxe rooms are on the first and second floors and have very good ocean views.  Ocean Front rooms are located closest to the waters edge. Rum Cake and water in rooms on arrival with our compliments.

The main house is very welcoming with dark wood floors, fireplaces and antiques combined with tropical colours.  Here you will find the Rum House Bar for a pre or post dinner drink with regular live entertainment in season.  The two restaurants are also found here, the Hibiscus Dining Room offers buffet breakfast and a la carte lunch and more formal dining for dinner whereas the more casual Palm Court has a lighter menu.  Half Board guests can choose a la carte in both restaurants.

Grotto bay offers an all inclusive option which includes all meals and most beverages, bus/ferry passes and non motorised water sports and tennis.

For alfresco dining by the pool the Bayside Grill and Bar serves lunch and drinks and twice weekly BBQs in summer and has views of the surrounding turquoise blue waters.

Pool, sea or the unique cave swimming

There is a freshwater heated swimming pool, outside Jacuzzi, or to burn off energy Grotto Bay has 4 tennis courts, a small gym and a water sports centre with snorkelling, scuba diving, sailing, windsurfing and more.  Daily activities are organised by the hotel including cave swimming – which takes place in the atmospheric Cathedral Cave in the hotel gardens featuring a natural underground pool.

The hotel also has a small but well stocked gift shop and a children’s activity programme during the summer Mon – Sat, for a small charge.

Grotto Bay is only 10 minutes from the very pretty town of St Georges and is also well located for Golf with two courses, Mid Ocean and Tuckers Point very close by.   A public bus service operates from the hotel or mopeds can be rented.
