Holidays to Bermuda
Bermuda – a beach for every day of the year
Prestige Holidays is the specialist in Luxury Bermuda Holidays. We have a long history of providing luxury Golf, Spa, Beach, Honeymoon and Family holidays to Bermuda. There is still a quintessentially British feel here, the familiar names of its parishes, Southampton, Warwick, Hamilton, Sandys, St George’s, Paget, Devonshire, Pembroke and Smiths are reminiscent of home.
Some 600 miles from the coast of the USA and some 1000 miles north from the more frenetic tempo of the Caribbean lies Bermuda; a luxury holiday destination and Britain’s oldest colony. The 150 small islands, the largest joined by causeways and bridges, make up this serenely beautiful and colourful sub-tropical garden paradise. With 365 pink sand beaches too!.
The Islands and the People
The islands, only 21 miles long, are encircled by delightful coves, inlets and beaches of fine pink coral sand all lapped by the clear blue waters of the Atlantic. Everywhere white washed roofs top delightful pastel painted homes all surrounded by well kept gardens prolific with hibiscus, oleander, and bougainvillea. Mark Twain wrote ‘Visitors on their way to heaven call . . . and think they have already arrived’.
Whether you explore by bus, ferry, or scooter you’ll notice how relaxed the pace of life is, how manicured and affluent the island is, and how cheerful the welcome. Bermuda is a lovely place with a calm ‘laid back’ approach to life. It is very simple to slip into this ‘easy’ style, thus ensuring a truly relaxed Bermuda holiday.
The most important thing about Bermudians is that they are warm, friendly, helpful people – all you have to do is ask! Please do, because everyone wants your holiday in Bermuda to be perfect.
Nobody knows it better!
Of course holidays in Bermuda are by no means inexpensive but it most assuredly is excellent value. This value is in part, because of the whole island experience – its beauty, safety, quality of service, courtesy and cleanliness – a holiday in Bermuda will remind you of Britain in the 1950’s with an American accent!
Prestige holidays to Bermuda offer a choice ranging from top class luxury resort hotels, or the privacy of a cottage colony to family self catering apartments and small hotels. All are well known to us – in fact no other tour operator has organised holidays to Bermuda for as long as we have and nobody knows it better.
If you have a favourite hotel in Bermuda that we have not included, we will be delighted to quote to suit your requirements. We are always more than willing to help find the right hotel for you. All you need to do is ask!

Getting Around Bermuda
Several options for getting around Bermuda are available to choose from. Here are some useful hints (prices subject to change):
Ferries Because Bermuda is made up of 150 islands linked by causeways and bridges, ferries are a very natural and lovely way to view and get around this beautiful place during your holidays in Bermuda. We have always found this service punctual, good value and a pleasant way to meet other people. Fares are either $3.00 or $4.00 depending on the route. Timetables and ferry tokens or 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7 day bus/ferry passes are available at most hotels in Bermuda. You can even take your scooter on board and ride back! Ferry routes are shown on our map.
Scooters Car hire is not possible when on holiday in Bermuda, but renting a scooter is. The speed limit is only 20 mph and they drive on the left! Rental companies provide helmets, delivery and collection, the first tank of fuel and third party insurance.
We recommend Smatt’s Cycles next to the Hamilton Princess. Scooters come with a single seat or as 2 seaters. Rates at Smatt’s for a 3 day rental for example cost from $135 (single seat) or $155 (2 seater), and we include a 10% discount voucher in your travel wallet. For a $30 premium, payable locally, all repairs will be covered too.
Bermuda’s Buses Another way to see the island and meet some locals! Fares are very reasonable – $3.00 up to 6 miles, or $4.50 for longer journeys. Passes are available, 1 day $12, 3 days $28, 4 days $35 and 7 days $45, and they can be used on ferries too. Or tokens are required, pick some up at your hotel.
Here’s a tip! If the bus stop pole is pink, buses are heading into Hamilton and blue if heading away from Hamilton.
Taxis Widely available and ideal for going out to dinner or taking an island tour. Drivers are generally very informative and some are qualified guides too.
